I am not making any money off of it. I am not trying to be exhaustive or "fair & balanced". I'm only giving personal opinions, and trying to share what I like. Thank you.

...is late. I would love to blame Nicolas Sarkozy for this, but a combination of computer crash, transatlantic travel, hectic work schedule and late contributions from guests rappers made it impossible to release the show in May. Stay tuned for this very special mix by a guest selector!

If you liked what you heard on Yo La La !, by all means do buy the artists' albums. The French rap market is in no way comparable to the US market so none of these guys are millionaires. Many have day jobs, live off welfare or worse. The links below point first to the american Amazon.com, then the French Amazon.fr or non-merchant sites if the albums are not available in the States.

Oxmo Puccino, aka the Black Mafioso, Black Desperado, Black Jacques Brel or Black Popeye is one of the most gifted rappers ever. This episode tries to capture all aspects of his talent, from witty fictional stories to the most depressing introspective songs this side of the Atlantic.

As Oxmo told me during an online chat, ask me to translate one of his songs.

Finally, this show is dedicated to Mark Hunter. Thank you for your donation!

I am not making any money off of it. I am not trying to be exhaustive or "fair & balanced". I'm only giving personal opinions, and trying to share what I like. Thank you.

If liked what you heard on Yo La La !, by all means do buy the artists' CDs?. The French rap market is in now way comparable to the US market so none of these guys are millionaires. I included below links to the american Amazon.com. French speakers could try the French equivalent or http://www.fnac.fr for a better selection.
